How to Start a Meditation Practice



Meditation is an intentional practice. Adding it to your daily routine can lower your stress and improve focus. Are you are interested in beginning a meditation practice but not sure where to start? Below are some simple steps to help you get started.


Step One

Sit comfortably for 5-10 minutes of quiet time in a quiet space. Set a timer if you need to.


Step Two

Focus on your breath. When your mind begins to wander, return your attention back to your breath.


Step Three

End with gratitude and kindness. Take a moment to thank yourself for making the time to practice. Self-care and self-compassion are so critical to your wellbeing.


Try to commit to meditating everyday. But please give yourself some grace if it doesn't happen. Although a daily practice is deeply beneficial, sometimes life happens and that is totally okay.
