Mantras can be so powerful in reducing stress. Life is filled with uncertainty and chaos. There is so much out of our control in the world today. One thing we can remember though is that we do have control over our emotions and reactions. It’s so powerful to recognize your thoughts and then be able to let them go. Bringing peace to your mind, heart and body. A mantra is a word or phrase that aids in stilling your mind and bringing it to focus. Mantras can provide stress relief and bring peace.
Try This Simple Mantra for Stress Relief & Peace
When you feel your body tense up with stress and/or anxiety, try taking a moment for a simple mantra meditation. Sit down with your hand on your heart and repeat the following mantra quietly to yourself 3 times:
“I have control over how I feel, and I choose to feel at peace.”
Finding a Moment of Calm
During a recent park visit, our 2-year-old kept chasing the ducks and throwing “food” (aka rocks) into the pond to “feed the fishes.” Before losing it, I took a breath and asked both kids to sit and look at a turtle with me. It gave me a moment to breathe and quietly recite my mantra. My husband magically captured this beautiful moment (as seen in the image above).
Keep it Consistent
Some days mantra practice has a beautiful quiet space, and other days it’s a frantic search for a moment of calm in the midst of chaos. Whatever this looks like for you, try to carve out a moment of pause in whichever form it comes. Consistency is key.
